My favourite movie critic

"But "Superman Returns" gives us something valuable in exchange: We can't control the fate of the world, but the myths we create -- the myths we love -- will endure long after we're gone. Superman, born in 1938, is still very much alive in 2006. The Man of Steel has so skillfully bent the bars of our imagination that he seems real to us. And in a sense, he is."

You 've got to love the way Stephanie Zacharek, senior writer for Salon Arts & Entertainment, writes her reviews. I've been reading Salon for the past 5-6 years, and Zacharek's reviews are my favourite part of the site. A lady who truly loves movies.

Spirits high

Its amazing what a few days of stress free living can do to you. My spirits are up, up and away! The weather also helps. Even the mountain of work that has to be completed by tomorrow doesn't seem to faze me. Eagerly awaiting the weekend to catch Supes in action! In the meantime, here is a hilarious article on the Super Mane

Relaxed and wanting more relaxation...

A 10 day trip after some grilling work sessions was just what the doctor would have ordered. Went home after nearly a year and came back on Sunday night feeling really rejuvenated. A real vacation! Now its back to the grind - trains and rains, tons of work and not much time for anything else. Why cant vacations last forever?

Btw, continuous exposure to increasingly hotter pics has made me really eager to catch Brandon Routh as the new Supes. Bryan Singer of course, is still the primary reason. Maybe this weekend.

It could've been me...

I really like the Calvin and Hobbes strips that has Calvin turning into a T-Rex or hitching a ride on a pterodactyl. One of the high points of my life was finding a full-sized dinosaur skeleton at the Birla Museum at Hyderabad. I didn't pursue my childhood dream of becoming a paleontologist and going fossil hunting in Mongolia, and I regret it every time I hear about a new fossil. :(

Anyway, going home after almost a year. Should be fun.

Radha and Sita

You should consider yourself lucky if you happen to have a nice boss. To have 2 really nice bosses who value you on your own merits and don't expect you to lick ass or treat you like a serf - its a blessing. Radha(krishnan) and Sita(ram) - my bosses when I was a techie, were just that. Now that I am working in an industry where it is next to impossible to find a half decent boss, I really miss them.

A relaxing weekend

The weekend started off with lovely weather, followed by some pampering at my friend's salon with a great aroma spa. Charged me up enough to party until the wee hours despite a grilling session at the squash court. Sunday was lazy, cooked (for a change!) and lazed around till dinner. Perfect!

Tears in my eyes

Listening to An American Prayer after a really long time....

I'm sick of dour faces
Staring at me from the T.V. Tower
I want roses in my garden bower; dig?
Royal babies, rubies
Must now replace aborted
Strangers in the mud
....

No more money, no more fancy dress
This other kingdom seems by far the best
Until its other jaw reveals incest
And loose obedience to a vegetable law

I will not go
Prefer a feast of friends
To the giant family
